COLUMBUS — State Representative Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville) today was sworn into the 134th General Assembly. This is his second term as State Representative serving the people of Ohio’s 98th house district.
“I look forward to serving the residents of Ohio’s 98th house district in my second term as their State Representative with transparency and intellect,” said Hillyer. “I will continue to work hard to ensure Ohioans’ freedoms are protected at all costs.”
Hillyer sponsored several imperative bills in the 133rd General Assembly including the following:
- House Bill 38: Requires a commercial credit card reporting agency to provide credit reports to businesses and to establish a procedure that allows a business to dispute statements on that report.
- Am. House Bill 136: Prohibits only the execution for an individual who has been found to have a serious mental illness, defined in the bill as a clinical diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bi-polar disorder or delusional disorder.
- House Bill 249: Provides a narrow window of opportunity for the sexual abuse victims of Dr. Richard Strauss to have their day in court.
- House Bill 674: Revises and updates Ohio’s laws regarding alcohol sales.
