Rep. Hillyer Announces House Passage of House Bill 38

COLUMBUS – House Bill 38 passed the House today, announced primary sponsor Representative Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville).

The bill will require a commercial credit reporting agency to provide credit reports to businesses and to establish a procedure that allows a business to dispute statements on that report.

“We need to continue to prioritize and support small businesses in Ohio,” said Rep. Hillyer. “This bill is an important step in doing so.”

House Bill 38 extends the legal protections rights granted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to small businesses. It will allow Ohio businesses to view a copy of the commercial credit report and challenge it if the report contains inaccurate information.
